supervalu salesAs spring has sprung we hear news that SuperValu are expecting to sell a whopping €18m worth of fresh Irish lamb over this year and another €300,000 worth of seasonal Irish rhubarb. Both these tasty treats are now on sale in SuperValu’s stores nationwide in good time for the Easter table.

The lamb sold by SuperValu has an impressive pedigree being 100 per cent Irish born, bred and reared and the first of the 2105 season’s lamb is now available on the butchers counters of Supervalu. The SuperValu fresh Irish rhubarb is grown by Roland Newenham, a Cork producer. The rhubarb that will be the star of many a crumble this Easter can now be found in-store retailing at €1.69.

Eaton Howell who is the trading director at SuperValu commented that SuperValu was the number one supporter of the Irish food industry and promised that they would continue to use quality Irish produce in store. He said:
